This evening we're off to Valencia, Spain for our longest trip yet (30 days). This wasn't our first time in Lisbon, and it won't be our last.
We've been repeating to ourselves recently that it's not fair to hold the girls accoutable for tantrums if we haven't set them up for success.
Do you really do CrossFit if you don't talk about it? As the intent of this trip was to live casually, and work slowly, we knew we'd struggle with the gnawing need to accomplish something.
Oh date night makes us feel so young. It's not about getting drunk, or some kind of steamy romance.
So we were 25 in a hostel with backpacks, signing up to see whatever the big sight is for that city. We did that for years, getting onto weaving bus tours of the Duoro Valley, or sleeping overnight between European capitals.
With Mamo & Tato in town, Jo and I can get some real date nights in. And this was one I would recommend to anyone who loves food, wine and people.
I wonder how people found these great sunset spots before Instagram and Tiktok. We heard about a spot up high in the Lisbon hills to get a great look out of the city, specifically at sunset.
Jo and I have a saying that we tell new parents: "you need to have BPE". The rules of the world were written without parents of new children in mind.
Maeve has one mission this trip, and that's to make up for all the food she wishes she was eating over the last seven months.
Google Maps has failed us. In Lisbon, there is no good way to plan a route for your stroller.
Occasional notes from our family adventures, sent when there is something new to read.
