There are few things better than a flat boardwalk and a lot of people to watch.

Marbella is interesting because it sits at this intersection between a beachy town and a really ritzy vacation spot. You get everything from locals sunbathing in their chairs at every hour of the day, to yachts pulling into the harbour to drop off heirs and heiresses for a beach party. The people watching is exquisite. The cultures, too. I've heard every language, seen every sort of fancy dress, and watched every kind of interplay.

So I'm chugging along, running a nice slow 6:30 pace, just eavesdropping on every conversation I pass. A couple arguing about where they're going for dinner. A woman explaining to her son something to do with what their aunt does for a living.

I'm sweating, but I'm listening more than anything else.
