Trucking Through

Maeve has been in a mood recently. She's not going to sleep as well easily as she's known to, taking up to an hour to put down and popping back up from sleep within a few hours unless she's tucked in between us. We decided to take an easy day on an open-top bus (which Nora loves) and see the parts of Valencia we don't know as well. As luck would have it, Maeve screamed the entire ride. Is she teething? Tired? Experiencing a leap? Who knows. But it was unpleasant.

We've become more resilient though in moments like this. Pause at a park for Nora (and Jo) to play. Get an ice cream. Try to get one or both to take a nap.

It's not glamorous, and to the outsider it probably looks miserable at times. But this is the trade-off for the exceptional times. Maeve learning to crawl on a sandy beach. Nora trying olives and liking them. Sometimes you've got to just truck on.
