The Sights
Today we stalked through Rome's old city and gawked at the relics and remains that hid behind every corner. Egyptian monoliths pulled straight out of the desert to prove the dominance of Rome's leaders. Fountains by chiseled by famous architects to taunt other famous architects. Churches. A lot of churches.
The Colosseum was probably our favorite spot of the day. Imagine a blood thirsty population filling the steep seats, calling for another animal or gladiator be torn apart.
Mobs are such a core part of being human. Even today, as we stand outside the Colosseum, mobs of tourists rove through the square queuing for their opportunity to say they've seen something. Lines of well-dressed visitors smile into their cameras in hopes of capturing a moment with the ginormous stadium of death.
Good fun. Â
