Sleepy Starts

It's a slow day.

We made it to Malahide, just north of Dublin and checked in to the iconic Malahide Grand Hotel. We're at war with the time change, and everyone is irritable. But that was expected. We've done this before.

It's funny seeing Maeve in her own seat – she's so small, it feels silly that she's a full adult fare. The girls got geared up for a movie, but neither made it through the first 10mins and crashed out before we even reached our cruising altitude. And they stayed asleep. Nothing more we can ask for.

From there, we landed, picked up the car rental, reacquainted ourselves with the left side of the road and got safely to our hotel.

It's been a fun, albeit difficult first day, we:

  • Swam at 9AM local time at the hotel kid's pool. A single foot of water, and two girls pretending they're dolphins.
  • Checked out Malahide Castle and, more importantly, the legendary playground on the castlegrounds.
  • Chinned a Murphy's at the local pub.

Now, to fix our sleep schedule.
