Sky High and the Deep Underground

Sky High and the Deep Underground

A pretty classic trip up a vernacular turned into a unique arts experience, and it was a great time. With Uncle Gui in tow, we travelled like poorly dressed skiiers to the top of Barcelona's highest point to explore Castell de Montjuïc. Both girls loved watching the city shrink beneath their feet as we were pulled up to the peak.

The castle itself was pleasant. Old walls and relics of ancient wars. But then we discovered a blue-lit door that led to a spiralling staircase. Descending deep into the belly of the castle, Gui and I joked with Nora that dragons could be around every corner, and we weren't half wrong.

Deep, in what must have been the cellars of the castle, a kooky art exhibit lit up an otherwise lightless cavern. An absolute wild experience.

Highlights

La Alcobita (Barcelona) - In the Jewish corner, sprawls into a square outside the restaurant. Excellent tapas.
