Shoulder to Shoulder

Shoulder to Shoulder

Wow. After a taxi, flight and bus, a bistro lunch, beer garden visit and quick stop into a basilica for good luck, we watched the best game of rugby I've ever seen. A brutal classic between Ireland and South Africa in the Parisian pool game that could have been a final. The crowd was heroic. Tens of thousands boomed out Fields of Athenry, and my voice was hoarse from screaming at both the good and bad.

Easily one of the most incredible moments of my life, I was wet with stress induced sweat by the end of it. The 36 hour adventure with Jacek (Jo's dad) was a blast, and it's nice having that kind of company. We share a lot of interests and can talk comfortably for hours. Perhaps more importantly, neither of us need to be talking all the time, and we can enjoy the moments of calm silence just as much.

I'll be back to Paris in two weeks with Jo, for a very different adventure.
