Pushing Later

Pushing Later

Spanish days run later for sure. The biggest shock has been how late dinners start. Here we thought we were cool parents who didn't put a lot of emphasis on bedtimes or naps. But this is next level.

  • 6:30PM everything is still closed for midday siesta.
  • 7:30PM restaurants start serving drinks, but don't ask for a food menu, the chef hasn't arrived yet.
  • 8:00PM is when the first acceptable order are fired up, and the early birds enjoy dinner. This is also when the playgrounds are at their best. Parents relax park-side with a beer and some peanuts catching up with friends.
