Mom & Dad Date Night
Oh date night makes us feel so young. It's not about getting drunk, or some kind of steamy romance. Rather, date night is about conversations. Ones that go on for more than two minutes uninterrupted. Our date nights always feature ambitious walking - that's where the best conversations are found. Late at night, after a glass of wine and good food. Holding hands.
We've made our biggest decisions on date nights. Buying property. Getting a dog. Plans for kids. This date night was more of a reflection on the first third of our trip. While having Jo's parents over has provided more hands for caregiving, we absently increased our travel pace, seeing more sights and adventuring longer days. Admittedly we're a little burnt out. Nothing a few slow days can't fix.
This date night was much warranted, and an absolute treasure. Jo knocked the selections out of the park. After we stopped in on an impromptu street festival, we hit up the highlights below.
Highlights
đˇ Senhor Uva (Lisbon) - vegetarian based wine bar in a residential part of the city, deferred all selections to the server and they delivered.
đ˝ Sol e Pesca (Lisbon) - choose a can of sardines, and they'll serve them for you. Vibe is nautical. Mystery bag wine was awesome.ď¸
