Maeve and Milestones

Maeve and Milestones

It's a travel day today, between 🇭🇷 and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 so instead of recounting the challenging lay over in Luton or the way that airport security tried to frisk our baby for contraband, let's focus on something more positive.

Maeve is learning and fast.

  • She is actively trying to climb anything she can reach
  • She is practicing her pincer grip to pick stuff up
  • Yesterday she started clapping.

But with that, she's becoming far more dangerous (largely to herself). During a nap time on our queen sized bed, she found a way to wiggle her way off with a thump. When we arrived in our Scottish apartment, she promptly pulled the coffee table down on herself.

I wonder if some of the leaps in development are the extra hours around her sister. We did the horrific math, and we probably have 4hrs of awake time with Nora on days that she's at day care. That's a scary stat. A lot of our focus was on the extra time Jo and I would have with the girls. But maybe we underestimated the impact the extra hours together would have.

We landed in Scotland today. And got dinner with Kait, Erik, Flavia & Gord last night. Felt like a homecoming.
