Long Talks and Walks

Long Talks and Walks

Most of the wedding party has now left, so we stole Becca for much of the day.

Through this whole trip, we've been walking a lot. When you're not chained to a desk, and you want to see a city, the best way is on two feet. We walk a lot as a family, as much to put children asleep as to get in the right headspace.

There's exceptional bike paths through most of Edinburgh, that go throughout the city. Which means you can find a gorgeous tree lined escape from almost every corner. One of my favorite parts of the UK is allotments. These little garden spaces that everyday people rent to create something beautiful or grow something useful. My grandfather was growing something anytime he wasn't driving an ambulance, and I still remember him taking Dan and I to his allotments to pull up potatoes.

Highlights

🍽️ The Chippy (Edinburgh) - we consumed a ton of fish and chips at this local spot, and while I was sick the next day from it, it was well worth it.

🍽️  The Roseleaf (Edinburgh) - exceptional brunch spot, menus come wrapped in old National Geographics, there are fancy hats hung on the wall, every table has a unique pepper shaker. And the food is excellent. Wish I lived here so it could be my local.
