First Zoo

We've held off activities like the zoo or aquarium. Nora can have just as much for playing with a cardboard box as she does on our elaborate adventures, so slogging out to the Toronto versions of these animal habitats felt a little silly. Recently, she's taken more of an interest in animals (outside of just recalling their sounds).

The Valencia zoo did not disappoint. We got up and close with some of Nora's favourites. Giraffes grazing alongside antelopes and lions. A baby elephant snuggled in with a herd of mothers. Lemurs swinging above head.

Where Nora enjoys the right animals under the right conditions, Maeve is enthralled by them all equally. From dogs, to snakes, to hippos, she wants to be within arms reach of whatever creature she can be.

Highlights

Bar Ricardo (Valencia) - open since 1947 this is an authentic gem, we feasted on sardines.
