Escape to Madrid

High speed trains are incredible, and it makes me angry we don't have them in Canada. By car, Valencia to Madrid takes just over 6 hours. By train, hurdling forwards at 300km/hr, it's about 90mins. For context, if Toronto had a train like that, we could get to Montreal in similar time.

At Becca's wedding, we made friends with Alba who lived in London a few years ago. On hearing that we were staying in Valencia, she demanded we come out to Madrid for what she considered was a better experience. She did not disappoint.

Here's a quick itinerary of our night in Madrid.

• 10AM High speed train.
• 12PM Arrive and check into hotel.
• 2PM Walking tour of the old town, learning about how Madrid is the meeting of Christian north and Islamic south (also naps)
• 5PM Park visit
• 7PM Ice cream
• 8PM Tapas at a local place.
• 10PM Wine down the street
• 12AM Back to the hotel.
