Better Beaches
I'm not a big beach guy. It's the sand. From a texture perspective, it rubs me the wrong way. It's also hot. And sunny. Generally things I try to minimise.
Valencia has the best beach I've experienced. Here's why.
- Sand Quality. Sand grit ranges depending where you go. Most sand I've experienced is what I would consider fine. In Croatia, when there was sand, it was course. Valencia's sand is the powdered sugar of the sand family. Extra-fine.
- Shallow Waters. It takes forever to get deep. You walk for 50m before it reaches your hip. Maybe not ideal for swimmers, but I'm a wader.
- Beach Width. The distance between the road and the water is 200m. Maybe more. By the time you set up on the beach, you feel like you're in a different planet.
We came here with the expectations that we'd beach maybe weekly. It will defintely be far more than that.
Highlights
🍽️ Oli Bar Ruzafa (Valencia) - stopped by for brunch, ordered the specials, received three dips. Cheese dip. Sausage dip. Hummus dip. Would dip again.
