Little Miss Articulate

Nora's evolution from a late toddler to a threenager can best be described in a recent lunch conversation we had with a couple from New York.

Him: "We can't wait for our food to arrive, if it ever does."
Nora: "Yeah, it's hard to wait sometimes. I think it will be three more minutes. Sometimes when I wait, we play I Spy."

One of the clear changes in Nora through this trip has been how she speaks. And frankly, it's obvious she's sponging up how we talk. Her new use of phrases like actually, literally, we'll see, and that sounds good to me, are carbon copied from our own day to day conversations.

She also loves to strike up conversations whenever she can.

Nora: "After this were going to have a siesta and then go to a pasta making class. What are you going to do?

And don't get her started with taxi drivers. She needs to know their names and their stories. She's willing to provide driving instructions too.

Nora: "Nice to meet you. Where do you live, Robert? Watch out for that red light and don't go too fast."
